When Sumi sensei came to Singapore in 2017, he spent some time explaining the finer points of Bokuto Ni Yoru Kendo Kihon Waza Keiko Ho, a fundamental base on which to understand Kendo waza and kata better. A big thank you to Damian Carmody-stephens sensei for sharing his knowledge at the recent safety seminar held in collaboration with SMU Kendo Club. The main aims were to minimize the risk of training-related injuries, and to promote positive behaviour and values that Kendo can bring us.
