Notice on Coronavirus

In view of the recent development of the novel coronavirus situation, Singapore Kendo Club (“SKC”) is taking extra precautionary measures to safeguard the well-being of our members. In line with government’s advisory, members are encouraged to avoid non-essential travel to Wuhan and to continue to exercise caution and attention to personal hygiene. Members who have travelled to China are advised to quarantine themselves and refrain from training for 14 days, and seek immediate medical attention if they are feeling unwell. In addition, members will undergo a temperature screening and are required to sign their attendance before every training. Those who are unwell will be asked to leave.

SKC urges all members to be responsible for their personal health and adopt the following precautions at all times:

  • Avoid contact with live animals including poultry and birds, and consumption of raw and undercooked meats;

  • Avoid crowded places and close contact with people who are unwell or showing symptoms of illness;

  • Observe good personal hygiene;

  • Practise frequent hand washing with soap (e.g. before handling food or eating, after going to toilet, or when hands are dirtied by respiratory secretions after coughing or sneezing);

  • Wear a mask if you have respiratory symptoms such as a cough or runny nose;

  • Cover your mouth with a tissue paper when coughing or sneezing, and dispose the soiled tissue paper in the rubbish bin immediately; and

  • Seek medical attention promptly if you are feeling unwell.
